The upright Christmas tree storage bag is worth buying if you have an 8 to 9 foot artificial tree and you’re done pulling ornaments off every January. It slides over a fully decorated tree on clip-together support rods and the zipper runs all the way down around the base. Buy it if teardown is your pain point.

Quick Verdict
I ran the green one for a full year and it’s still in really good condition. This brand new one went over a nine-foot decorated tree with clip-together stakes and a zipper that wraps the whole base. It has worked so, so well.
Buy if you:
- Have an 8 to 9 foot artificial tree
- Want to store it fully decorated, ornaments on
- Are storing outdoors and need rain kept out
- Put the tree away by yourself
Skip if you:
- Don’t want to assemble stakes and thread the cover first, it’s a few minutes of setup before the tree goes in
- Have a tree taller than nine feet
- Break your tree down into a box anyway

A Year Outside and It Still Looks New
The green one sat outside through a full year of rain and came out without a single hole or seam split, that’s what sold me on testing the new one. The company sent a second unit, and the first thing I checked was fit on my nine-footer, which is right at the stated maximum. You can check the current price here.
What Ownership Costs After the Purchase
Ongoing cost: zero. Everything you need ships in the box, cover, carrying case, tent stakes, instructions, and the stakes nest back into the carrying case so nothing goes missing between Decembers. Twelve months of outdoor exposure didn’t put a hole in the green one, which is the only maintenance result that matters here.
The Setup Step People Underestimate
You can’t just throw this over the tree. The support stakes go together first, they clip right into place just like a tent pole, then you slide them up the cover and zip it. Super easy, but it is a front-loaded few minutes before the tree ever gets covered. Do it on the floor, not over the tree.
Covering a Fully Decorated 9ft Tree
Unzip, bring it up and over the tree, take the clips. That’s it. The clasps sit on top of the zippers so you can really lock it down, and the zipper goes all the way down around the base to keep anything from getting in underneath. Ornaments stayed on. No ladder, no second person.
Worth knowing on the buying side: it’s close to the cheapest it’s been tracked at and has been sitting around that for three months, so there’s no obvious reason to wait for a drop.
Who Should Actually Own This
If January teardown is the part of Christmas you actually dread, this solves it completely: decorated tree goes in, zipper closes, done until next year. The one reason to skip it is if you already break your tree down to a box, this bag is built around the assumption that you never want to do that again.
Pros
- Green one survived a full year still in really good condition
- Fits a 9ft tree fully decorated
- Stakes clip together like tent poles, super easy
- Zipper wraps the base; clasps lock over the zippers
- Keeps water out for outdoor storage
Cons
- Stakes have to be assembled and threaded before you cover the tree
- Capped at nine feet, nothing taller fits
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one person do this alone?
Yes. Once the stakes are assembled and the cover is threaded on, you bring the whole thing up and over the tree and clip it. No ladder involved on a nine-foot tree.
Does it work with a lit or pre-lit tree?
It covers whatever is on the tree, lights included, since the cover goes over everything decorated. Unplug it first if you’re storing it outdoors.
Do you need to stake it into the ground?
The stakes in the box are support poles for the cover, not ground anchors. They clip into one another and slide up inside the cover to hold its shape.
