Jarrett Dottin (JD), OTR/L, MOT, CLT, is a specialist in treating Lymphedema and Wound Care in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. He is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), Wound Care Therapist (CLWT) and Compression Fitting Specialist (CCS) that utilizes Dr. Vodder and LIR approaches for the management of lymphedema.

Jarrett is a certified Skills2Care practitioner which improves the well-being and skills of family caregivers, slows decline in daily functioning of persons with dementia, and reduces challenging behaviors that can trigger nursing home placement. He has developed and led dementia training/mapping, restraint reduction, wheelchair positioning and contracture management programs at skilled facilities in Maine, Massachusetts and Florida.

Additionally, he has consulted with homecare agencies and physicians for management of pain, neuropathy and musculoskeletal dysfunction with microcurrent point stimulation (MPS).

Licensure/Certification

Clinical Experience

  • Assessed, planned, and implemented occupational therapy care for diverse patient populations including those in inpatient setting, outpatient setting, home health care, and outpatient private practice setting.  Patient conditions including, but not limited to, orthopedic, neurologic, lymphedema of the extremities/head neck/trunk, acute and chronic wound care.  
  • Documentation of patient care activities such as evaluations, progress notes, re-evaluations, and discharge summaries in adherence with Medicare and institution standards.  
  • Prepared and submitted letters of medical necessity regarding lymphedema treatments, power wheelchairs, compression garments, and compression pumps to ensure coverage by insurance companies as well as participate in formal appeals on behalf of patients regarding DME supplies.  
  • Collaborated with doctors, nurses, case managers, social workers, PT/OT/ speech, and administrators utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Clinical settings:  acute care, hand therapy outpatient, private practice OT, home health and lymphedema therapy.  
  • Lead OT of inpatient centers managing clinician’s patient schedules, therapy visit utilization, client case conferences and development of facility client care programs. 
  • Orienting new therapy staff including occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and occupational therapy students to their responsibilities. 
  • Ensuring that the clinics meet standards for annual certifications as a Medicare certified rehabilitation agency.  
  • Owner/operator of occupational and lymphedema therapy clinic including management of staff, upkeep of clinic, management of operational expenses, and daily operations.  
  • Providing continuing education presentations to health care providers.
  • Develop and assist with educational programs related to services offered by outside clinics for physicians, outside facilities, and for the general public.
