This cordless tire inflator is worth buying if you drive a lot and hate being stranded. It filled my tire to 32 PSI on battery alone, with an auto shut-off, a flashlight, and nozzles for balls on the back end. Skip it if you expect it to fix a puncture.

How this review was made: written from my own video review of this product. Every opinion here is my own, from using it myself.
It’s a Pain in the Neck Without One
I keep this cordless tire inflator in my car for this exact reason. I work in home health, so I go through a ton of tires, and standing around hunting for a gas station pump is a pain in the neck. The company sent me this one about six months ago and it’s lived in my car since. 🛍️ See it on Amazon.
The hose just stays on right here, no digging. Attachments for a ball or a float live on the back end. The nozzle screws on and off with a quick turn. Real easy.
I Set It to 32 PSI. It Didn’t Blink.
Four steps: power button, lock the nozzle, dial in your pressure, hit start. Mine was sitting low enough that I was nervous about driving it, and the AL5 hit 32 PSI and cut itself off before I’d finished putting the cap back on the other three valves. No outlet, no cord, no babysitting, and NOCO‘s 40-PSI-in-under-7-minutes claim held up in the parking lot where I tested it.
There’s a flashlight on it, a battery life readout, and you can switch between pressure units. I keep mine on PSI.
Here’s the catch. It held air long enough for me to find the hole, and then the air went right back out. There was no coming back from that tire. An inflator buys you time and gets you to a shop. It does not patch anything.
Six Months in a Hot Car
Six months in a Texas-summer car, think trunk temps that cook food, and it still powers on immediately and holds a charge between uses. That matters more than any lab test, because glove-box gear has one job: be ready the one time you actually need it.
Where It Sits Against Other Inflators
It’s selling hard right now, #927 in Automotive against a 90-day average near #6,747, with 3,000+ bought last month. Price on this one bounces around a lot and has gone well below where it sits today, so 🛍️ check the current price on Amazon rather than assuming. Cordless wins over 12V cigarette-lighter pumps for one specific reason: at 11 PM on the side of a road, you do not want to be feeding a six-foot cord around your bumper while cars pass. You pull the AL5 out, walk straight to the flat, and start.
Pros
- Filled my tire to 32 PSI on battery alone, no outlet
- Auto shut-off at your set pressure
- Hose stays attached, nozzle is a quick screw on and off
- Flashlight and battery readout built in
- Ball and float attachments on the back end
Cons
- My tire emptied right back out, a hole is still a hole
- Price swings a lot, so timing matters
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it on bike tires and sports balls?
Yes. The attachments for balls and inflatables store on the back end of the unit. Swap the nozzle, set a lower pressure, hit start.
Does it need to be plugged in while inflating?
No. It runs off its own battery, which is the whole point of a cordless tire inflator. Just charge it before it lives in your trunk.
Will it work on truck or SUV tires?
It’s rated to 40 PSI in under 7 minutes, which covers most passenger and light SUV tires. Heavy truck tires at higher pressures will take longer runs.
