Yes, the Aromasong Natural Shoe Deodorizer and Foot Spray is worth buying if your shoes smell from long hours in a car or a gym bag. I’m a year and two bottles in, and one bottle lasts me about two months on one or two quick sprays. Buy it.

Quick Verdict
A year in, second bottle, and the current one has lasted about two months on one or two quick sprays. The odor disappears and the minty eucalyptus smell lasts so long. It’s a scented spray though, not a fragrance-free one.
Buy if you:
- spend hours in your car and have noticed your shoes starting to smell
- rotate two or three pairs and want the off-duty pair resetting overnight
- want something 4oz small enough to live in a gym bag full time
- wear boots and want one spray that handles those too
Skip if you:
- don’t want a strong minty eucalyptus scent in your shoes, because that’s what you get
- are after a powder or deodorizer balls you drop in and forget
- need a medical treatment for a foot condition rather than an odor spray

How a Car Ride Led to Natural Shoe Deodorizer

Unfortunately, because I’m in my car so much, I noticed that my shoes had started to smell. Not dramatic, just that closed-car, all-day-in-one-pair kind of smell you catch when you pull them off. That’s the whole reason I went looking for a natural shoe deodorizer in the first place, and the Aromasong Natural Shoe Deodorizer and Foot Spray is what stuck.
I’ve been using it for about a year now. This is my second bottle. That’s the number I’d want to know if I were reading this, because a year of repeat buying says more than a first-week impression does.
It smells like a eucalyptus mint, clean and sharp, not floral or synthetic, and it’s still detectable the next morning when I go to put the shoe back on. What I do is really simple. I have a couple different pairs of shoes I’ll wear, so I’ll spray one, use the next pair the next day, and then just rotate them. The odor disappears. That’s the routine, and it’s held up for a year.
Where a Spray Stops Being the Right Tool
This is an odor spray, not a treatment. If the smell is coming from a skin or nail issue on your feet, that’s a different conversation with a clinician, and no spray is solving it. As an OT I see plenty of people who assume the shoe is the problem when it isn’t.
It also asks for a little rhythm from you. I spray one pair and wear the other, and the rotation is doing part of the work alongside the spray. If you only own one pair and you live in them fourteen hours a day, you’re spraying into a shoe that never fully dries out. Nothing in a 4oz bottle fixes that.
And it is a scent. A good one, and one I reach for on purpose, but if you want your shoes to smell like nothing at all, minty eucalyptus is not nothing at all.
People Think You Have To Soak It
You don’t need to drench the shoe, and that’s the thing most people get wrong. I’m giving one or two quick sprays and then just throwing it back in the bag. That’s it. That’s why my current bottle has lasted about two months so far on 4oz, which works out to a lot more uses than you’d guess from looking at the bottle.
The other misread is thinking you have to wait around with damp shoes. It dries fast enough that you’re not standing there holding a sneaker. The listing puts the freshness window at 24 hours, and with my rotation the sprayed pair sits overnight anyway, so I’m giving it more time than it needs.
How It Compares To Powders and Deodorizer Balls
Most of this category is powders, insert pouches, or natural shoe deodorizer balls you drop in and leave. Those all work on absorption, which means they sit in the shoe and you have to remember to pull them out. A spray is the opposite approach. You aim, two pumps, done, and there’s nothing to retrieve before you put the shoe on.
The formula side is where Aromasong makes its pitch: sulfate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and made in the USA. If you’ve been using a heavy chemical aerosol and want off it, that’s the practical reason to switch. It’s sold as a 2-pack, which is how I ended up with a spare sitting ready when bottle one ran out.
One thing worth knowing before you click: the price on this one moves around a lot. Right now it’s sitting well below where it’s usually been over the past few months and close to the lowest I’ve seen it tracked. It’s also been selling slower lately, currently ranked #110,031 in Health & Household against a 90 day average of #72,342, which in my experience is often when a listing gets cheaper. Just check the live price rather than assuming.
Gym Bag People, Car People, Boot People
This is small enough to where you could just keep it in your gym bag, take it along with you, spray your gym shoes when you’re done, and then just put it right back in the bag. That’s the cleanest use case. Second cleanest is mine, which is the car, where your shoes never really get a break.
Work boots are the real test, the inside of a closed leather boot after eight hours is a different problem than a mesh sneaker aired out overnight, and it handles those too. A year of repurchasing is my real review, and that’s across multiple pairs, not just one gym shoe I spray occasionally.

One caveat: if you hate minty eucalyptus or you only own one pair you wear back-to-back, none of this applies to you, the rotation is doing real work alongside the spray.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I spray it directly on my feet, not just in the shoe?
Yes, it’s sold as a foot spray as well as a shoe spray. The formula is sulfate-free, silicone-free and paraben-free, which is why the brand positions it for sensitive skin. I use mine in shoes, so that’s the side I can speak to from experience.
Will it stain or discolor light-colored sneakers?
I haven’t had any marks on the shoes I use it in, and it dries fast rather than pooling. If you’re spraying suede or a pale leather boot, I’d hit an inside seam first the way you would with any liquid. Interior spraying is the safer habit anyway.
Does it work on gym bags and sports gear too?
It’s listed for sports equipment, gym bags and household items, not just footwear. That’s useful if the bag itself has picked up the smell, because putting fresh shoes back into a stale bag undoes the work. Same one or two sprays approach.
Can I take a 4oz bottle on a plane?
Not in a carry-on under current US liquid limits, since 4oz is over the 3.4oz cap. Pack it in a checked bag, or keep one bottle of the 2-pack at home and travel with the other checked. For gym bag and car use, which is what it’s really built for, size is a non-issue.
